Did you know that your appearance is heavily influenced by your hairstyle? It can make you look fabulous, or it can make you look drab. The term, 'bad hair day' was probably invented by someone who was looking particularly drab one day! The good news is that you can choose to look fabulous every single day. It doesn't require hours of washing, drying, curling or straightening. You can achieve the perfect look with hair extensions. Some people, however, get confused about the difference between these and wigs. There are some big differences, as well as pros and cons to both. You will have to decide which method is right for you.
These are an excellent solution for those with short hair, and want a longer look, without having to wait for it to grow out.
The clip-in method is one of the most cost-effective, and does not permanently damage your hair. The pressure-sensitive clips attach to your real hair, and they generally require less maintenance than permanent methods. You can take them out and put them in whenever you want, and the process takes only a few minutes. This can be done at home, or a salon.
Other methods include using special glue; only someone who has extensive experience should do this, as it could cause damage to your hair, or even cause chemical burns to your skin. You should never try doing this at home; it must be done in a salon and executed by a licensed professional. They offer a more permanent solution to the clip-in method.
These can be any style you wish; a ponytail, braid, wavy, or straight. If you have the glued-in type, you can wash them with your real hair.
These are whole 'pieces' that fit over your head to give you an entirely new look and feel. You can choose a whole new colour and style; you can be as dramatic or as conservative as you like.
Your real hair can be put up or braided, and then a cap placed over your head. You then use an adhesive over the cap, and apply the wig carefully. There are a number of different brands of adhesives you can purchase.
For both hair extensions and wigs, you can choose to use 100% human hair or synthetic hair. Your salon professional can show you samples and explain the differences, as there are many different options and prices vary among brands and types.
